- Cal Kemppainen pursues his passion for art and his love of nature at his home/studio “Wind Ridge”, Charlevoix. “Wind Ridge”, an 1860’s Gothic Revival home left in ruins, has 360-degree hilltop views plus 30 acres of orchards, located 6 miles south of Charlevoix. “Wind Ridge”, built by the Hilton family of New York, is located across from Bier Art Gallery. The old “Granary” is being restored to hold classes and private lessons beginning Spring 2010. Guests roam the trails, paint, photograph and enjoy the beauty of the restoration, the farm and the views of Lake Michigan.
